1979 Watron Solar
Hexagon stainless steel case and expandable stainless steel band which appears to be original. There are three buttons, at 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock, and 8 o'clock as well as a insert set button at 3 o'clock. This indicates that it does not use the same module as the 1978 Watron. The small array of solar cells appear to be crystal silicon cells. The back reads, "Watron Stainless Steel Water Resistant 770249". Date is estimated by the design.
Comment: Like many watches of this period it suffers from extremely small font size on the face. Yet this heavy stainless steel case and "futuristic" elongated hexagon shape makes the watch appealing and unique to the period.
It appears that the Watron watch was also sold under the name Halin.
