1990 Alba Analogue Quartz Watch Solar Cell

Alba is a line of Seiko watches with more trendy, unusual and sometimes very sophisticated designs. There are two unusual design elements to this watch. The crystal is convex and the stem is recessed under the outer edge of the case so that it is not visible at normal viewing angles. The black plastic band is original The instructions indicate the caliber is V121 or 122.

The face is a deep blue with what appear to be 4 quadrants of amorphous solar cells, like the 1988 Junghans Solar 1 design. The instructions explain that the watch uses a capacitor for power and does not use a battery. The date is estimated by the design.
